- The app builds on Windows, all of its engine unit tests pass there, and a first test installer builds; testing on a Windows PC, local models and a release come next
This version.
- Built and checked on Windows by GitHub's Windows build machines on every change.
- The app talks to its engine over a private named pipe that only your Windows account can open.
- Agent shell commands will run in Git Bash when Git for Windows is installed, and in PowerShell otherwise.
- Windows has no sandbox for agent commands yet: until it does, ShadowCode will say so plainly and refuse to run when Require sandbox or a network allow-list is turned on.
- API keys will be kept in Windows Credential Manager, and settings and history in your AppData folder.
- Local models will run on the bundled llama.cpp with Vulkan graphics or the CPU.
- It will ship as a per-user Windows installer (no administrator rights needed) on GitHub releases, with SHA-256 checksums, like the Linux and Mac versions.
