DNA Engine

DNA Engine (dna-engine) is a Shadowfetch Studio project. A 100% offline, bring-your-own-DNA genomics workbench for macOS. It reads a local raw-DNA export or VCF on your own machine and turns it into a citation-backed research readout without cloud upload, telemetry, an account, or hidden network traffic.

Build from source (macOS)

Requires macOS 14 (Sonoma) or later and Xcode command-line tools. The published build script does not touch /Applications unless you ask:

VERSION="$(<VERSION)" BUILD_NUMBER="$(<BUILD_NUMBER)" BUILD_ONLY=1 ./build.sh

Output is build/DNA Engine.app. INSTALL=1 is an explicit opt-in documented in the repository README. First launch of an ad-hoc-signed local build may need Gatekeeper’s Open exception.
