Shadow Mission Control

A local-only mission-control HUD for a Linux workstation. Dark chrome, live telemetry, no cloud calls. The server binds loopback only (127.0.0.1:7420). Nothing is uploaded. No account, API key, or telemetry backend is required.

This HUD is a separate public repository from the Mission Control desktop inside the Linux ISO.

  • Panels documented in the README include CPU, NVIDIA GPU, VRAM, RAM, disk I/O, network, temperatures, local model listeners, GPU processes, Docker, and selected systemd units.
  • Missing Docker or nvidia-smi is reported in-panel; the rest of the HUD keeps updating.
  • This application is not the Mission Control desktop that ships inside Shadowfetch Linux.

Linux installer

The README requires Python 3.10+ and, for the first UI build, Node.js.

cd shadow-mission-control
./scripts/install-linux.sh

That installs shadow-mission-control to ~/.local/bin, builds the HUD, and writes a desktop entry. The launcher opens a Chromium-family --app window after starting the loopback server.
